MSA spreads the joy of Eid: free treats for all!

In the spirit of Monday’s Eid al-Fitr, the MSA, Marianopolis’ Muslim Student Association, had the brilliant idea of offering free chocolate-covered dates to students and staff on campus during Tuesday’s AP. The dates were offered with a variety of toppings, including coconut, rose petals, nuts and plain chocolate.

Eid al-Fitr is one of the most meaningful celebrations in the Islamic calendar and marks the end of Ramadan, the holy month of fasting for Muslims all over the globe. It takes place at the start of the next month, Shawwal, and it is a joyous period in remembrance of the valuable lessons that the holy month has taught many.

It is also a fantastic opportunity to exchange small gifts and cards with family and friends. This year, it meant a great deal to the MSA that students and staff also partake in the beauty of such a wholesome festivity: with handmade treats and bright energy, it had the promising ambition of spreading smiles and starting conversations, one chocolate-covered date at a time!
