Marianopolis Carnival Day

On Thursday, March 17th, it was the annual carnival day! The event took place during AP from 12:45 P.M. to 2:05 P.M. on St-Patrick’s day. The event, which took place in room F-105, was organized by a collaboration between the Volunteering Committee of Marianopolis, with Matthew Homa in charge, and several student clubs.

The intent behind the carnival was for clubs to organize some fun games, activities, and services for students to enjoy before getting into the midterm period. The entrance was open to all, but students had to pay for tickets to participate in the games if they wanted to have their hands on the several prizes offered to winners, such as Kit Kats, plushies, gift cards chocolate Golden Coins, among other prizes.

There were two sections at the carnival fest. The first section was where the students could find all the several mini-games. The second section was situated just outside of room F-105 where people could find a cotton candy-making machine and buy the treat (a kiosk for cotton candy was also inside the mini-gym); all made by and in collaboration with the Culinary Club.

Many clubs were present at the event with their activities. Some examples would be the TEDxMarianopolisCollege with their trivia game, the WISE club (Women In Science Empower) with a game involving nerf guns, a booth where participants needed to name the most amount of green things in one minute, and Marianopolis Shriners Children’s Hospital Club with their mini-golf game. However, one kiosk was different from the others; it was a collaboration with the MSA and DESI club, and members offered to draw henna designs for students on their arms.

The room F-105 never stopped being filled with students enjoying the time they were able to spend together. The entire event was filled with joy and welcoming people.
