Yearbook-Related Updates

The Coordinator of Communications has completed the first pages of the yearbook so far, which include pictures of many sports teams and clubs at Marianopolis: flag football, basketball, badminton, MEDLIFE, Grey Matters, and more. Pictures of people who attended Join A Club Day are also going to be present in the yearbook.

Black History Month

The Coordinator of Cultural Affairs shared that the Black Student Union will set up a booth during one of this month’s activity periods to inform students on Black history. A guest speaker, who is a social worker and lawyer, will also come to Marianopolis. Additionally, a screening for the movie “Remember the Titans” took place during AP on Thursday, February 8th.

Lunar New Year

On Thursday AP (February 8th), the MSU gave out free tanghulu to students: Congress bought grapes for the occasion, but there were also strawberries. Many students came to get the candied fruits at the alcove in front of Wayne’s.

Club Exec Dinner

Congress reflected on the Club Exec Dinner that took place on Wednesday, January 31st. The MSU cited the considerable turnout, the budget planning, the use of the cafeteria, the food, and Congress members’ initiative as positives. Points of improvement included organization: for instance, following the expected timeline of events and keeping a timetable of people’s availabilities. Additionally, the MSU President read a message from Leticia Yansen, who deemed the dinner to be a success.
