Congress Weekly: Coffee House, Communities, and Budgets

On Friday, February 23rd, Congress gathered to discuss a few key matters. Here they are:

Coffee House

This activity aiming to promote sustainability and raise awareness towards fair trade will take place in the student lounge. Coffee and hot chocolate will be available for students, as well as sandwiches made by Congress members. Milk and cereals will also be offered to students at 9 a.m. for breakfast (on the day of the activity). Additionally, during their meeting, the MSU noted ethical considerations when choosing their food provider and the delivery method. The event will be promoted soon.

Communities

Rebecca and Maria revealed that they have met with Leticia to discuss the creation of an Omnivox community dedicated specifically to the MSU. This would ease communication between Congress and the student body as event information, surveys, and maybe even news publications about the upcoming school elections will be readily available on Omnivox. The different categories in the MSU’s community are yet to be determined.

Budgets

Zi Heng, who is in charge of finances, did a review of the correct way to request and allocate a budget for MSU activities.
